Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Claude Chess at claude-chess.com (the "Service"), a website that hosts chess games written by different AI models. By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

You can play any game on the site without an account. Signing in with Google or GitHub lets you save games and load them later. The Service is a hobby project. It is provided free of charge and may change, break or be withdrawn at any time.

Accounts

• You sign in through a third-party provider and must follow that provider's terms.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.
• You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, or have a parent or guardian's consent.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• attack, overload or probe the Service for weaknesses, or bypass its limits;
• access another person's account or saved games;
• use bots or scripts to create load or to scrape the Service at scale;
• upload anything unlawful, or anything other than genuine game data through the save feature;
• copy, resell or misrepresent the Service.

Your content

Games you save remain yours. You give us permission to store them and show them back to you so the Service can work. You can delete a saved game at any time. Saved games are limited in size and may be rejected if they exceed the limit.

AI-written games

Each game and its computer opponent was written by an AI model. Moves, evaluations and results may contain mistakes, and a game may behave unexpectedly. Nothing in a game is professional or competitive chess advice.

Intellectual property

The Service and its code are owned by the operator or its licensors. Third-party names, including Google, GitHub and the names of AI models, belong to their owners and appear only to identify what each game was written by.

Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or remove access, or delete accounts and saved games, if you break these terms or if we need to protect the Service.

Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that saved games will never be lost. Keep your own copy of any game you care about.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest revision. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated terms.
